What do I need to open a merchant account?

How long does it take to open a merchant account?

Once we receive a completed and signed merchant account application including any requested supporting documents about your business, your merchant account can be set up on average within 3 – 5 business days. Some times faster if needed.

What kind of response times can I expect?

For calls, you get connected to your account manager immediately. For email and support tickets, we start working on your requests, as soon as we receive them.

Can I access my merchant account online?

Yes. Payment Transaction Systems offers several online and offline tools to access information about your merchant account. With these tools you can view, download and import account information such as transaction activity, deposits, funding, chargebacks, retrievals and statement information.

You also have access to a virtual terminal where you can process transactions from your computer.

How do I get paid when I accept credit cards?

Using Automated Clearing House (ACH), We remit funds due for your MasterCard, Visa, Diners Card®/Carte Blanche® and JCB, American Express and Discover transactions to your business bank account within 24 – 48 hours. We deposit the full amount processed.

Does my business qualify for a merchant account?

We accept retail, professional service providers, trade shows, mail order, telephone order, Internet based, and home-based businesses. We do not accept adult-related businesses.

Do you accept foreign businesses?

No. We do not process for merchants outside the United States.

Do I need a business checking account to accept credit cards?

You need a business checking account if your business is set up as a corporation (corp, S corp, p corp, LLC, Partnership). If you are operating your business as a sole proprietorship, you may use a personal checking account or a business checking account

What types of systems do you support?

We support all First Data terminals and equipment as well as the Clover POS system family. We also support ingenico, PAX, exadigm terminals. You can also use any payment gateway such as authorize.net, USA epay, and more with Payment Transaction Systems.
